Dwyane Wade and Lebron James post-game news conference (May 15, 2013)

I have a deeper respect for James now. I know they consider themselves as brothers but just hearing him say that, defending Wade from critics, and having trust in Wade is truly admirable.

Quick tidbits:

  • Wade went into the locker room to get his knee re-taped.
  • Apparently, whenever Wade goes to talk to Coach Creen he has ‘great’ games the following night.
  • LeBron James is awesome.

Hip hop’s golden age began in 1986, the day Rakim stepped to a microphone to record “Eric B Is President.” Only 18 years old (though he sounded considerably more worldly), Rakim (real name William Griffin) had a smooth, effortless flow that brought a cool melodicism and high intelligence to the MC game—he gave both fire and ice, set within the wiry frame of his serious features. Even those who didn’t get the Five Percenter reference wouldn’t have bridled at his nickname, God. His partnership with his DJ, Eric B, yielded four great albums and numerous classic singles before Rakim split for a solo career. Despite initial success with 1997’s The 18th Letter, he endured several frustratingly fruitless years signed to Dr Dre’s Aftermath, working on an album that never came. Now Rakim back in his native New York, the city where his immense influence is most clearly audible, notably in other NYC wordsmiths such as Nas. As recently as 2012, The Source named him the greatest MC of all time.

ESPN captures the rise, fall, and rebirth of the NFL’s 2007 number 1 overall draft pick, JaMarcus Russell. I’ve expressed my distaste for Russell many times before but I really hope he pulls through on this comeback. Nice to see Garcia aiding in Russell’s comeback, been a fan of his since he joined the Eagles. Chuckled a little bit while watching the video only because I thought the anchorwoman uttering the words “purple drank” and “sizzurp.”

Who doesn’t want to see Action Bronson crowd surf?

Odd Future indeed. Tyler the Creator, Domo Gensis, and Earl Sweatshirt perform “Rusty” on the David Letterman show The Late Show with David Letterman. Btw, Earl and Tyler is giving Diddy a run for his money with their choreography game.

DJ Steve Porter packs the Heat in a 1 minute and 48 second video to praise Miami Heat’s amazing 27 game streak. The Heat are in Chicago looking to extend their streak to 28.

Dwyane Wade and Kevin Durant star in Gatorade’s new commercial, “Fixation.” Pretty neat. Kind of reminds me of Wade’s “Nightmares Never Sleep” commercial that he did with Nike.

Less clothes and more NSFW in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” music video. A win-win situation for everybody.

NBAClutchTime complied a video to showcase Dwyane Wade’s vast skillset on offense.  Regardless of how you feel about him, Wade will go down as one of the greatest shooting guards players of all time.
